The Mindful Blonde

I'm Danielle, The Mindful Blonde, here to help you discover self awareness and acceptance, and show up for the things that feel good.

I'm so glad you're here!

I’m Danielle - a mom to a beautiful little girl Simona, a wife, a certified holistic health coach, yoga instructor and self-care enthusiast. What I aspire to do day in and day out, on and offline, is guide you (and myself) to show up for the things that make you feel good. I strive to give you mindful, actionable advice that you can embrace during your very own wellness journey.

Telling my story has been one of my greatest healing tools. I truly believe that when we create space to share our story and struggles with others, we allow them to do the same.

My life didn’t always look the way it does and it definitely didn’t feel the way it does now. Remember your life is only was beautiful as it feels, not as it looks. This is something I am constantly reminding myself of and it's been the things that's taught me most about living a truly beautiful life.

For years I was caught up in what I thought wellness was; trendy diets, painful workouts, doing what others said to do, not listening or even knowing what my intuition was. I became obsessed with controlling everything around me and what went in and on me and called that health.

I developed what is now called orthorexia. An eating disorder that involves an unhealthy obsession with “healthy” eating. I tried to use food as a way to control not only my weight but my skin, my digestion, my neurological symptoms, etc.

Once I began to realize that food was becoming the enemy and that my health was spiraling in a very negative way, I knew it was time to make a change. I knew I needed help, and I knew asking for help was the only thing that was going to truly save me from hiding the pain, anxiety and control that had held me back for years.

The rock bottom for me was sitting down for dinner one night (something I used to love) but at that time caused me so much anxiety. Justin (my husband) said that he knew and could see that I was unhappy. The conversation didn’t end like most conversations I had around food, because this time I had agreed with him. It was the first time that I truly surrendered and admitted that I had a problem and was willing to finally take matters into my own hands. My days had been spent obsessing over what i was going to eat, how i was going to prepare it and how i was going to navigate another meal, and I was missing out real life.

Asking for help looks different for everyone but for me it meant really turning inward and realizing that nothing outside of me was going to change how I felt inside. I took a deep dive into mediation but more specially Dr Joe Dispenza. I learned all about the science, formula and how to heal using my mind alone. I enrolled in IIN. I saw a subconscious healer (who unfortunately no longer takes clients). I began to do things that felt truly good for me - and I didn’t do them once, or 5 times. I showed up for them day in and day out.

It was a long and difficult process, but it was through meditation, my version of mindful eating, meaningful conversations and now motherhood that my life completely transformed. This “about me” page is something that will always be evolving. Every day you wake up you are a new person, you have a opportunity to make new choices, a new opportunity to create the life you dream of. You just have to be willing to see that, and surrender to that.

I hope to connect with you soon!

XO, Danielle

FAQ's

  • How did you grow a following?

    1. Hard work

    2. Consistency & Accountability

    3. Being true to myself and authentically sharing.

    4. Your brand comes out of the work you do. Do the work and the brand will come.

    5. When I started to share the things I wanted to share vs. the things I thought people wanted to see, is when I saw real growth.

  • Why juice over smoothie?

Think of juice as medicinal. It's like having a tea vs. eating the herb or flower. Juice isn't a meal either, it's a healing, hydrating beverage that helps me feel my best, and a really amazing way to start my day. If I want a smoothie, I will have that after my juice, as a meal.

  • I just read your eBook; so good! Do you drink wine at all?

Thank you so much! I do occasionally and I love to try everything. We live in wine country so one of the things that brings me so much joy is visiting our favourite wineries. I think it's important to do things that bring you joy and enjoying things in moderation is how I like to live my life.

  • Diet for perfect skin and hair?

Doesn't exist. I spent years of my life wasting energy and obsessing over the perfect diet to maintain or to achieve good skin. I was left with an eating disorder and the worst skin of my life. When you stop obsessing or focusing on how you look and more on how you want to feel... that's when real beauty is achieved. That's also when major shifts started to take place in my life. Including the appearance of my skin, and my hair stopped falling out (yes, it was falling out at one point in time).

  • How do you keep your hair so long and healthy?

My hair hasn't always been this way. When I wasn't supporting my nervous system or adrenals properly my hair was much thinner and at times I would lose clumps!  Most of us live our day to day lives in fight or flight but the easiest way to support your nervous system is to stay out of "fight or flight" mode.  You do that through meditation, breathing techniques, long walks or baths. Try to find something that brings you a sense of calm and commit to it. Products I swear by: Act and Acer and Supplements from MaryRuth Organics
